Charlie Sheen’s wife Brooke Mueller is in rehab for both drugs AND alcohol, multiple sources close to the situation told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
Her lifestyle was so out of control that friends tried to bring her drugs while she was hospitalized during the past several days, a source familiar with the entire situation told RadarOnline.com.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation have told RadarOnline.com all the crucial details of Mueller’s substance abuse during the past few months and her trip to rehab.
And despite a denial from her lawyer Yale Galanter, who claims she is merely resting and relaxing, RadarOnline.com has independently verified the real story of how Brooke was ordered into rehab.

Mueller has been out of control for months, several independent sources close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. And when she was hospitalized last week with an infection and pneumonia she was then told to go directly to rehab.
The initial plan developed by people close to her was to put her in a California rehab. That plan was nixed, however, because they were worried details of her treatment would leak.

They decided to send her to North Carolina, hoping that the details would remain secret.
Brooke was still recovering from an infection and pneumonia. But Mueller and people close to her agreed to take the risk of the cross-country plane trip to get her help and keep it secret. If she was merely at a spa, resting and relaxing as Galanter has said, she could have easily done that in California.

“His story is ridiculous and completely transparent,” one source said of Galanter.,
The medical facts indicate it’s unlikely flying is more likely to be reserved for extremely serious situations. Dr. Michael Hirt, who has been practicing internal medicine in California for 17 years told RadarOnline.com that patients released from a hospital stay for pneumonia often still have a two to three week recovery period ahead of them. And while battling pneumonia, flying is not recommended.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Charlie Sheen "Definitely Attacked" His Wife, Says Her Dad
"We don't recommend people fly with pneumonia unless their oxygen is monitored which isn't done on a commercial airplane it would have to be on a medically equipped aircraft with a physician," said Dr. Hirt, who has not treated Mueller. Patients battling pneumonia “are already working with less oxygen and flying would worsen their capability to breath."
Mueller was drunk the night before the Christmas incident that landed Sheen behind bars. By 8:30 a.m. Christmas she was still drinking when she called 911 after Sheen got physical with her. Sheen, who has been through rehab twice, has also relapsed and is drinking again.

But Mueller also began using drugs again. She received in-patient treatment for crack addiction in the early 2000s in Los Angeles, as RadarOnline.com has reported exclusively.
Doctors, her mother and other people close to her saw she was a wreck by the time she was hospitalized in Los Angeles last week. Her mother will not admit it publicly, but was worried sick about Brooke and wanted her to get help immediately, the sources told RadarOnline.com.

“After her friends tried to bring her drugs in the hospital we felt we had to get her out of L.A.,” one source said. “And she didn’t put up a fight.”
Even though Mueller went to rehab willingly at least one source familiar with the situation remains skeptical. “If she stays in rehab only until Feb. 8, what good is that going to do her?” the source said.
Mueller and Sheen are due in Aspen court in early February.
