Brooke Mueller's stepfather has confirmed exclusively to RadarOnline.com that she is in a treatment center, saying "she is recognizing that she needs help and she can't do it on her own."
His definitive confirmation to RadarOnline.com comes after a series of reports and denials.
Jon Fiore told RadarOnline.com that his stepdaughter Brooke is receiving treatment at Two Dreams Outer Banks in North Carolina.
Entertainment Tonight was first to report that Brooke was in drug rehab. But Brooke's lawyer Yale Galanter denied that report.
ET struck back by naming the facility. Galanter said that Brooke, who was released from a hospital on Monday, had flown to North Carolina to recover from pneumonia.
Brooke's stepfather told RadarOnline.com exclusively about Two Dreams Outer Banks: "She is there. But it's a recovery place, and it is in a resort setting and the picture I'd like to paint more is that she's seeking help she wants to, she's dealing with this.
"This is a lot to deal with and I commend her for finally, you know, she couldn't go back to the house, what is she going to do? With all the problems and the stress? She's getting help and her mother is with her.
"I commend her for that. The positiveness of this is that she is recognizing that she needs help and she can't do it on her own."
"The main thing is it is all about the kids. It really is. These kids are gorgeous, I miss them dearly. I was with them for a month straight and they're just incredible kids. They're young enough and hopefully this will all be behind them. The kids are still in California with Charlie and the nanny. "
Galanter refused to comment on Brooke's exact location but says she is with her mother to rest and recover from pneumonia and infection. He did not explain why someone would fly across the country with pneumonia rather than seeking top medical care available in Los Angeles.
