Actor and friend Eric Balfour visited Brittany Murphy’s mother Sharon and husband Simon Monjack Tuesday morning at their Hollywood Hills home and RadarOnline.com captured his sad heartbreak over the actress’ death in an exclusive video interview.

“Brittany was one of my oldest friends and I supported her marriage,” Balfour said. “There’s no easy way through this and I can’t imagine what he’s Simon going through right now.”

Balfour is an old friend of Brittany’s noting, “I’ve known her since I was 14 years old.” The two were in a band together in the early ‘90’s called Blessed Soul and had remained good friends over the years. “We just want to make sure we take care of our friends and family…we take care of Sharon and Simon and honor Brittany as best we can.”

When pressed about how the family is holding up Balfour said, “It was devastating. Everyone’s devastated. We’re just trying to be strong for the family. It’s a tragedy…life is fragile.”
