She is the daughter of two of the most famous people on the planet, Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, but that didn't stop Alexa Joel from feeling so alone she wanted to die. That's the tragic story RadarOnline.com has uncovered about the singer/songwriter's suicide attempt.

On her MySpace page, Alexa described herself last August as "forgotten." She hated dating and considered herself "terrible" at it. "I HATE the game-playing! Can't stand it," she wrote.

A female friend found Alexa Saturday, discovered she'd taken at least eight sleeping pills and was saying she "wanted to die." The friend immediately called 911 and helped save Alexa's life. By the time paramedics arrived, Alexa knew she wanted to live but was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital for treatment.

"Alexa is stable," Billy Joel's rep said in a statement hours after RadarOnline.com broke the story.

Alexa was also still struggling with a painful split from boyfriend Jimmy Riot. He broke up with her twice last year. "I guess I'm quite the poor sucker for love!" she wrote at the time.

Alexa is only 23. Her dad Billy has been quite open about his own suicide attempt. Ironically he was also a struggling musician at the time, and going through a bad breakup.
