Redmond O'Neal was given a stern warning in court on Thursday at his progress report hearing, with Judge Michael Tynan telling Redmond that he believed he wasn't working as hard as he can.
But Redmond is working hard and is committed to his recovery, his attorney Richard Pintal tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview outside court.
Pintal says that Redmond has been compliant in all phases of his recovery treatment at residential treatment center Impact, and that his progress report was positive.
Pintal goes on to say that his client is going through an "adjustment period" and that he is still "learning to participate". The loss of his late mother, Farrah Fawcett, is playing a significant role in Redmond's recovery as he is grieving and trying to come to terms with the loss of his beloved mom.
But the good news is that Redmond is "extremely grateful" to be in treatment at Impact and although it's a very trying time he is "committed to his recovery" and has "embraced his recovery".
