Former Presidio County, Texas, sheriff, James Davis, has been terminated for-- as yet-- undisclosed reasons, RadarOnline.com has confirmed exclusively.

On Wednesday, Davis’s attorney, Jason Snell, said he feels the sheriff’s department failed to follow the proper procedures when they fired Davis despite the department’s insistence that the termination had nothing to do with allegations made against him by Evi Quaid.

Prior to him being fired, Davis had filed a lawsuit suing Evi for defamation of character. In September, Evi, who is married to actor Randy Quaid, accused Davis of taking money and illegal bribes  in connection with their arrests on felony charges. She wrote out her claims on the side of a truck parked outside the mayor’s office.

“My gut tells me this had everything to do with Evi Quaid,” Snell told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “But at this point we have no way of knowing that for sure.”
