Action star Hugh Jackman is used to chasing bad mutants as X-Men hero Wolverine, but he had the much more human task Monday of catching his daughter Ava in the bustling streets of New York.
The four-year-old got away from her dad on her pink scooter and the 40-year-old actor had to take off in hot pursuit to catch her.
Wearing a sharp suit and sun glasses the popular Australian star proved that he was up to the task as his wife Deborra-Lee Furness watched-on.
The pair headed to New York’s West Village with their daughter for some ice cream although their 9-year-old son Oscar wasn’t present.
The actor and his wife adopted their kids and have been happily married for 14-years although the age-gap between the pair has raised some eyebrows.
Lee is eight years older according to one listed birthday and 13 by another and Jackman – who was voted Sexiest Man Alive - has been sworn to secrecy on the matter.
But his wife takes exception to being compared to the likes of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.
She once said: “It's the society. Young is worshipped, young, beautiful, tight body, da-de-da. Forget any of the other stuff like chemistry or intelligence!"
“I hate all that s***!" she has said. "I find it so offensive - like he must be a really nice guy 'cos he's married to an older woman? Excuse me! He should be so lucky.”
Jackman is currently starring in Broadway play A Steady Rain about to Chicago police officers alongside James Bond star Daniel Craig.
While in New York is also doing some United Nations charity work and just met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair at a Climate Summit conference.
Jackson is an ambassador to World Vision and spoke about the effect climate change is having on Africa.
