Orange you glad Paula left, Posh?

A noticeably thin, orange-colored Victoria Beckham joined American Idol vets Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Idol newbie Kara DioGuardi in a show audition held at the State Room in Boston’s  Financial District on Thursday.

“It’s great to be a part of something where you find a new talent,’’ Beckham said. “I’ve been there . . . I’m a performer. That’s what made me famous. That’s what I did.’’

Idol host Ryan Seacrest would seem to agree.  At one point, Seacrest compared Beckham to her predecessor on the panel, Paula Abdul.

"Posh is a different kind of judge for us because not only is she a performer, but she’s also got the whole package,’’ he said.

The wife of soccer stud David Beckham caused a crunch of media and onlookers as she shuffled into the building where the auditions were being held.  We’re told while the other judges and the always super-nice Seacrest mingled with fans, Posh did not.

Because of confidentially agreements all Idol contestants must agree to, Idol wannabees leaving the audition wouldn’t comment on how Victoria did as a guest judge – if she was more “Simon” than “Paula.”

Beckham also was on hand last week when Idol auditions were held in Denver, leading to speculation that if Idol bosses like her, she could become a permanent fourth judge on the hit show.
