Is the pressure of filming The Beautiful Life finally getting to Mischa Barton?

The actress -- who was recently detained in a psychiatric ward -- looked pale-faced, with damp hair and an unlit cigarette hanging from her lips, on the New York set Wednesday.

When the photographers spotted Barton arriving in Manhattan, the former O.C. star reached for her sunglasses before finally lighting up her cigarette and making a dash for the make-up department.

She later emerged wearing high-waisted shorts, an orange t-shirt, with her hair smothered and make-up firmly in place.

Since leaving hospital for an alleged drug addiction, Barton has thrown herself straight back into work -- ironically playing a drug addict model in the show which is produced by Ashton Kutcher.

Although the actress looked much better than she did prior to going into the psych ward at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, friends are worried she did not take the stay seriously enough.

Set insiders claim that Barton is managing to keep-up with the hectic schedule and Kutcher is reportedly pleased with her performance, but will she be able to keep it up?
