Dustin Diamond who played the loveable, but nerdy “Screech” on the late 80s/early 90s Saturday morning sitcom Saved by the Bell wasn’t invited to a recent cast reunion photo shoot for the cover of this week’s People magazine. And RadarOnline.com has the reason why.

“Cast members were not comfortable with including him,” People magazine spokeswoman Claudia DiRomualdo told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
The reason behind their being “uncomfortable” is Diamond’s upcoming tell-all book about the Saved by the Bell cast and guest stars. While Diamond’s literary agent promises the book will be an incredible read, one former co-star is already slamming the kid star-turned author.
"What is he going to say?" Mark-Paul Gosselaar sarcastically told Newsweek magazine. "We were (bleeping) groupies at 14? I can't wait to read his book, because I don't have a memory of a lot of the shows. Maybe it was because I was doing lines off of the audience members' asses. I'm sure he's going to write something crazy like that. So he's writing a book, I'm not really afraid of what he has to say. There are not too many skeletons in my closet."
Since his days as a child star, Diamond has fallen on hard times, including a fading acting career, financial problems, and the release of an embarrassing sex tape.
That means Diamond likely also won’t be included if the cast – Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Lark Voorhies and Tiffani Thiessen -- reunites for a possible TV special. There are rumors that a retrospective show is in the works with the stars talking about their on-set experiences.
And what does Diamond think about being shut out by his former coworkers? "Of course he cared he wasn't invited," a source close to Screech told RadarOnline.com. "Wouldn't you?"
