It may be much ado about nothing – a torn shirt, a ruined photograph. Not exactly the crime of the century, but still, Mad Max hasn’t found the time to talk to the cops about it, despite their requests.

It’s been nearly two weeks since Mel Gibson allegedly got into some sort of altercation with a man who tried to snap his picture at a nightclub, but the Braveheart star still has NOT spoken with Los Angeles Police Department detectives investigating the case, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

A source close to the investigation tell us that Gibson’s assistant keeps telling authorities: “He’s busy filming.” The LAPD says it may have to go to the LA County District Attorney’s Office and tell them that Gibson won’t cooperate.

The incident, in question, happened July 29 at the opening of Hollywood’s Playhouse. Mel attended with his pregnant girlfriend Oksana Gregorieva. A reporter from Life & Style magazine attempted to take a photograph of Mel but was stopped by security. She then handed the camera to her male friend, who tried and by the time the dustup was over the man was left with a ripped shirt and filed a battery report against Mel with the police.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, multiple witnesses have backed Mel. "These eyewitnesses dispute the entire incident," a senior police source told RadarOnline.com, so the case may go nowhere fast – once Mel sits down with police.
