This was one comment David Beckham would not let slide. After his LA Galaxy teammate Landon Donovan publicly questioned Beckham’s commitment to the team, the British soccer god couldn’t help but defend himself.
“In 17 years, I have played with the biggest teams in the world and the biggest players and not once been criticized for my professionalism,” Beckham said. “I don’t care what people say about me on off the field, once I’m on the field I’m professional.”

Despite the tension, Beckham will maintain his relationship with Donovan at least when it comes to playing.
“Me and Landon will talk but that will be a private conversation,” he added. “And if there is a chance for him to score, I will be giving him the ball.”
