WAN SIZE FITS ALL Obi The results are in from Bonhams auction house's latest "Angels Star Collection of Film & TV Costumes," and being a nerd is getting expensive.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's robe, worn by Sir Alec Guinness, sold for a whopping $107,109—essentially it's a burlap sack. Then again, the thing is richly marinated in "Force," and you can't put a price on that.
Other high-priced items included a Dr. Who outfit worn by Tom Baker which sold for $39,431, begging the question: Why did John Pertwee's Dr. Who threads sell for a mere $15,388, especially considering they even came with a "sonic screwdriver"? And considering the exorbitant prices paid for lame-orabilia from virtually unknown geek heroes, why did a dress from Catherine Zeta-Jones's Darling Buds of May go for only $692?
