The Sister Wives family tree just became even more complicated.
The TLC reality show’s polygamous patriarch Kody Brown, 47, counts Robyn, Christine, Janelle and Meri as his four wives, but RadarOnline.com can reveal that two of the women were already related before Kody’s multiple marriages!
Janelle, the mother of Kody’s kids Logan, Madison, Hunter, Garrison, Gabriel and Savanah, was previously married to a man named Adam Clark Barber— who just so happens to be Meri’s brother!
Essentially, the two women were sisters-in-law before they became sister wives!
According to Utah’s Salt Lake County court documents obtained exclusively by Radar, Janelle and Adam, now both 46, finalized their divorce on June 8, 1990 after nearly two years of marriage.
Janelle was given the couple’s Utah home, while Adam received their 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier, 1952 Chevrolet pick-up, and 1981 Suzuki motorcycle.
As it turns out, Janelle met and fell in love with her second husband— her first husband’s brother-in-law— while she was still married to Adam!
“I met Kody in the fall of 1989, even though he may not remember it,” she says in her bio on the show’s official website. “When he walked into the room I looked at him and had that feeling of remembering something I had forgotten. It was a singular experience.”
“I had known Meri's family for several years before the night I met Kody.”
Interestingly enough, she fails to mention that she was actually a member of Meri’s family.
Meri and Adam’s sister Elaine confirmed the twisted love triangle to Radar, but declined to further comment.
The Browns have had their fair share of scandals in recent weeks.
First, Meri confessed to having an online affair with a man who was actually a woman in a twisted catfish drama.
Then, RadarOnline.com revealed that Janelle and Kody’s daughter Maddie, 19, is engaged to a family member— her aunt’s brother Caleb Brush, 28.
