Meghan Markle & Prince Harry On High Alert After Anthrax Terror Threat
Feb. 22 2018, Updated 11:33 a.m. ET
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on high alert after a package containing a white powder and addressed to the couple was sent to their home at Kensington Palace.
Palace officials were able to stop the suspicious letter, delivered on Feb. 12, from reaching Prince Harry and Markle, but the scare prompted Scotland Yard to conduct a thorough investigation and a terror alert was issued.
Chemical experts later determined the powder was not anthrax or a dangerous substance.
"Officers are also investigating an allegation of malicious communications which relates to the same package,” a spokesman for the Met’s Counter Terrorism command said. "There have been no arrests; enquiries continue."
A second letter containing powder was sent to Home Secretary Amber Rund in the House of Parliament a day following Prince Harry and Markle’s scare. The powder delivered in that incident was also deemed harmless.

The terror scares are certain to result in increased security when Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, wed at St. George’s Chapel on May 19.
“They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to come together around Windsor and to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day,” Kensington Palace noted in a statement.
