The investigation into Prince's tragic death just took a shocking turn.
The doctor who treated the music legend one day before his passing has vanished from his office— and isn't coming back, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
Dr. Michael Todd Schulenburg is "no longer with" North Memorial Healthcare's Minnetonka Medical Center, an employee confirms.
The family practitioner, 46, left the clinic "a couple days ago," according to the staffer.
He may have good reason to run away from reality. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, a search warrant claims Schulenberg cared for the ailing singer on April 7 and April 20, and prescribed unknown medications to him.
The doctor was also present in Prince's home on April 21 when his dead body was discovered by Andrew Kornfeld, an alleged addiction expert summoned to help him.
The U.S. Attorney's Office and D.E.A. have reportedly joined the Carver County Sheriff's investigation into Prince's sudden demise at just 57 years old last month.
The National ENQUIRER recently revealed that the star suffered a drug overdose following a long struggle with AIDS.
