Prescription Drug Shocker: Doctor Treated Prince The Day Before His Death

In the months before his death, Prince visited a Minnesota doctor twice, including the day before he died, RadarOnline.com has learned.

According to an official search warrant filed Thursday in Hennepin County, Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg treated the legendary singer on April 7 and April 20, prescribing "medications and prescriptions" for him.

Though investigators interviewed the primary care physician and searched his Minnetonka clinic, the specific prescription information regarding Prince's case has been sealed.

Now, authorities are hoping to discover whether the 57-year-old died from an overdose, and if so, whether it was due to his recent medications.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the "Purple Rain" singer, born Prince Rogers Nelson, was discovered unresponsive in an elevator at 9:43 a.m. on April 21, inside his infamous Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Interestingly, Andrew Kornfeld, the son of California addiction specialist Dr. Howard Kornfeld, was named as one of the people who discovered Prince's body that morning.

According to Page Six, the Kornfeld had been "asked by Prince representatives to help the star."

In a shocking twist, investigators discovered that Kornfeld brought buprenorphine, a drug commonly used to treat opiate addiction, on a flight to Minneapolis on April 20.

During a press conference last week, Kornfeld's lawyer revealed that his client's father, Dr. Kornfeld, had arranged for Prince to visit a Minnesota physician on April 21, though the doctor was never identified.
