Convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius was granted bail — of $692 — by a South Africa judge Tuesday in the Valentine's Day 2013 shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The Olympic sprinter, 29, was in attendance at Pretoria's North Gauteng High Court, where Judge Aubrey Ledwaba granted the bail after saying that Pistorius has shown he's not a flight risk over the past two years. (His previous bail amount was $113,000.)

The double-amputee athlete — who was convicted of murder by South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal last week — will remain on house arrest at his uncle's mansion until his sentencing in four months.

As part of the agreement, the runner must relinquish his passport to officials "until conclusion of the matter," the judge said. Pistorius will only allowed to leave the property between the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., with the written consent of police, and cannot travel more than 12 miles away from the home, under terms of the probation.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel earlier said in the hearing, "This is a serious offense … that is why we think and we think there should be serious bail conditions."

The runner's attorney Barry Roux said Pistorius will seek to overturn the Appeal Court's decision with South Africa's Constitutional Court.

Pistorius, who spent one year of a five-year sentence in custody, is slated to be sentenced April 18 in the murder, which comes with a 15-year minimum.
