Troubled 'Buffy' Star Nicholas Brendon's Suicide Attempt Caught On Video — 'I've Messed Up'
Nicholas Brendon nearly ended his train-wreck life in an attempted suicide — and the shocking incident was caught on tape.
RadarOnline.com exclusively obtained the tape, and is publishing it in the hope that Brendon will get the help he so desperately needs.
In the disturbing clip, the 44-year-old Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor slicing his left wrist not once, but twice, as he staggers around with a knife in his right hand. Brendon then slouches on a sidewalk until confronted by a passerby.
The scary episode unfolded in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., in September during a nine-day meltdown that capped years of woe for Brendon, including multiple rehab stints, hotel room ruckuses and arrests.
During his breakdown, Brendon had three separate brushes with local cops, was hospitalized and ended up with a slew of charges for choking his girlfriend.
Police also told RadarOnline.com the Criminal Minds actor had two separate "mental health" episodes.
The first incident came when Nicholas slit his wrist around 10 p.m. on Sept. 22. Earlier that evening, cameras at a nearby bar captured the distraught actor sitting alone and apparently sipping a beer.
The second incident, on Sept. 23, occurred off a busy main street around 5 p.m. It ended with cops escorting Brendon to a local hospital.
The actor wasn't charged in either incident, but his luck ran out on Sept. 30 when police were summoned to the Springs Motel by Brendon's girlfriend — an unnamed 33-year-old.
