Madonna is hoping she and her currently estranged son can somehow mend their relationship and have a happy New Year.

The Material Girl took to Instagram yesterday to prove to Rocco Ritchie, her 15-year-old son with her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, just how much she loves him.

“Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!” Madonna wrote to Rocco in the caption of an Instagram photo of the two in happier times.

In a move to show Rocco what he was missing out on, she also posted photos of Rocco’s brother, David Banda, 10, and sisters Lourdes, 19, and Mercy James, 9, enjoying themselves on Christmas.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, an insider revealed the 57-year-old singer and her eldest boy’s fighting came to a head in mid-November when Rocco “ran away in Stockholm,” during a stop on his mom’s Rebel Heart Tour.

“M and Rocco were having bad shouting matches,” the insider explained. “She’d be crying and yelling at him.”

A judge has since ordered Rocco, who holed up in Ritchie’s London home, to face his mom in New York City.

“He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York,” Ritchie’s attorney Eric Buckley said.

Do you think Rocco should have to return to live with his mom in New York City even if he wants to stay with his father in London? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments below.
