Lamar Odom was hospitalized for a drug overdose that almost took his life on this week’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but the party must go on for the Kardashian family!
Out of respect for Lamar, 36, and his family, the show paused filming until two weeks after Khloe Kardashian’s estranged husband was found unconscious at a Las Vegas brothel on October 13.
“I’m so overwhelmed with what’s going on with Lamar,” Kris Jenner explained of the tragedy. “It’s heartbreaking. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so powerless and it makes me really sad.”
Although Khloe, 31, didn’t comment on the overdose, Kris, 60, explained how her daughter hasn’t left her ex’s side.
“Khloe has been spending every second in the hospital with Lamar,” the momager said in her confessional. “She feels guilty for needing to leave, even if it’s for taking a shower.”
While the former NBA player survived the near-death ordeal, Kris opened up about his medical issues and how close he was to death.
“The doctor at the last hospital said, ‘He basically came in here dead,'" Kris explained. “The fact that he’s alive is a miracle. Him hearing our voices, seeing us and having family around is healthy and might make a difference.”
From failing organs to strokes, Khole made the decision to call off their divorce so she could be in charge of his medical decisions.
Lamar’s terrifying overdose must have inspired Scott Disick to seek treatment for his own addiction, as he entered rehab soon after.
“He really wants to get it together,” Kim told Khloe. “He’s like, ‘I’m eight days sober and I really want to get it together this time for my kids.'”
While Khloe was proud of Scott, 32, for entering rehab, she was “surprised” because he was recently “on the streets partying.”
Kourtney Kardashian said of her ex-boyfriend’s decision to enter the treatment facility, “I’m really proud of Scott for going to rehab and making an effort to get help. I hope after 30 days he’ll feel good and want to stay.”
Despite Lamar and Scott’s hardships, the Kardashians didn’t let the drama put a damper on their upcoming parties!
Kim’s husband Kanye West threw a surprise 35th birthday bash for his wife, where everyone wore baby bumps so the pregnant reality star could feel more “comfortable.”
Since Kim’s doctor told her how her unborn son is healthy, she used her birthday wish on herself!
“I wish to be so skinny soon,” she said while blowing out her candles, as her husband replied, “Yes, something meaningful to the world!”
Kim added, “Do I wish my baby is so cute? I’ll take a bad delivery for an extra gorgeous baby!”
The sisters kept the party going for Kris too, as Kim explained how they continued to plan her extravagant 60th birthday party because “deep down Lamar would want us to have this party.”
From rewriting and performing their mother’s infamous song “I Love My Friends” to planning The Great Gatsby themed-bash, the sisters worked hard to make their mom’s birthday the best yet.
But they weren’t the only ones working hard, as Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble feared his girlfriend was too stressed out managing her children’s careers.
“You’ve been working so crazy and I’m worried about your stress levels,” Corey, 35, said. “It’s one thing to be a workaholic, but it’s not healthy.”
But Kris didn’t listen to her boyfriend’s concerns, as she explained how his wish for her to work less could be a “deal breaker."
Despite their tension, Kris finally gave in when Corey set up a massage for her.
“After everything that’s going on with Lamar, Corey has been amazing and supportive,” she said in her confessional. “I am so used to taking care of everybody else. I didn’t know what it felt like for somebody to take really great care of me.”
