Jim Carrey's Lawyer EXPOSES Ex's 'Sham' Marriage Amid STD Lawsuit

Jim Carrey's lawyer hit back against claims that the actor passed sexually transmitted diseases to his now deceased ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, revealing that Carrey's accuser previously married White just so she could stay in the country!

"The claim that Mr. Carrey gave Cathriona White an STD is categorically disputed," Carrey's attorney, Martin Singer, released in a statement on Thursday. "This is a desperate, bogus claim made by the 'husband' of the sham marriage."

As reported, White's former spouse, Mark Burton, filed a lawsuit against Carrey this week, accusing the Liar, Liar actor of contributing to Cathriona's suicide by giving her access to "highly addictive and, in this case deadly" prescription drugs.

Burton also submitted a complaint alleging that Carrey had transmitted gonorrhea and two forms of herpes to White without telling her.

"This is an outrageous act by Mr. Burton, who numerous witnesses will confirm engaged in an illegal sham marriage in violation of the Federal law prohibiting marriage fraud to evade immigration laws, after White had asked numerous people — including my client — to marry her so she could stay in the country," Singer continued. "Ms. White admitted that it was a sham marriage, and numerous witnesses have confirmed that she even held a phony 'wedding' with another man before Mr. Burton went through with the sham marriage."

White did, in fact, admit to her fraudulent marriage during an interview long before her passing.

"I am a married woman. . .scandalous," she said before confessing, "He's like my friend for years. So he said I'm sick of you being in this situation so I'm going to help you. . .We were in Vegas and then the next day we went and got married. Then he dropped me at the bus station."

"I went to a lawyer there a couple days ago to file it, my interview is in four months, I'll have my work permit in three," she added.
