Politicians are known to get down and dirty with their opponents on the campaign trail, but now, one author is claiming that the presidential hopeful has waged war against him -- by sabotaging his Amazon book reviews!
Roger Stone is a seasoned political consultant who has worked with the likes of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. But after his new book, The Clintons' War On Women was released last week, he was hit with what he thought to be a suspicious number of one star reviews, the New York Post reports. Then, after a bit of detective work, Stone says he found out that the culprit was none other than Hillary Clinton herself. "My publisher Skyhorse confirmed with Amazon — they were all from the same URL, at Hillary's HQ in Brooklyn," the author said. "Why are they so afraid of this book?"
Allegedly, it was all part of a plan to stop Stone, with Clinton's press secretary reportedly advising bundlers in September, "When this Roger Stone book comes out — we'll obtain the book. Our research team will be able to go through it . . . There will be a war room set up to deal with that."
Clinton did not immediately comment on Stone's allegations. "I'm obviously getting under their skin," he said of the former first lady.
As RadarOnline.com has reported, Stone is not the first author to hurl boulders at Clinton's reputation. Another book written by former Secret Service agents provides a scathing review of Clinton's treatment of the service men. Meanwhile, Clinton supporters maintain that the sudden outpouring of Clinton criticism is all a thinly veiled attempted at the sullying the leader who could become the nation's first female president.
