Elton John is calling it quits! This Wednesday, the legendary singer shocked fans during an appearance with Anderson Cooper, in which he admitted that he is done touring and will now focus on his husband and family.
The 70-year-old assured fans that he will be "creative up till the day he dies," but for now, he is saying goodbye with a three-year world tour named Yellow Brick Road Goodbye.

"It will be the best production I've ever done," said John of his tour which will begin in September 2018 and end in 2021. "I'm not the type of person who appreciates Grammy's or things I value gold records that people have spent their hard-earned money on. It's a way of saying thank you and I want to go out with a big bang, not a whimper, a big bang. I want people to say I saw the last tour and it was amazing."

Explaining his reason to leave the stage, Elton John said: "My priorities have changed, we had children and it changed our lives. In 2015 David and I sat down and looked at the school schedule and I realized I didn't want to miss it."
John admitted to fans that he has been touring since he was 17 (except one year when he was focused on getting sober) and all he wants to do in the next three years is say goodbye to them for being so faithful to him.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, John cancelled a tour in 2017 after falling violently ill. Now, however, he is doing just fine!
"The British press said I'm retiring because of ill health, but I am in good health." he added. "I always thought I was going to be lie Ray Charles and BB King on tour forever."
John then confessed that his children and husband will accompany him on his final tour. "it's an important time, I love them so much and I don't want to miss them and I don't want them to miss me."
Speaking to Anderson, John said that he believes music should be heard live. "I want my music to be heard, I stream, I've never downloaded anything in my life, not even porn," he admitted.
After the show host asked again why he is calling it quits on touring after so many decades of success, John answered: "When I say I'm done touring it doesn't mean I'm stopping music, I'll be writing musicals, but mainly taking my kids to soccer academy."
He added that he wants his fans to leave after seeing his tour feeling "happiness and joy. That's what music's all about."
Asked Anderson: "300 million albums sold, 38 gold, 31 platinum, is there anything left to do?"
"There's always something left to do," replied Elton John, "if you look and you're willing to accept new things, I'm always going to be creative and interested in creativeness. I will take a couple years off after this tour, but I will be writing and let things happens. I will be creative up until the day I die."
Concluding his statement, John – who recently lost his estranged mother – said that his family is very excited for his decision, and that when he says he's done, he really will be.
"I wanted to do this in a classy, elegant way," John said of his last world tour. "I'm not one of those people who's going to say this is my last tour and then have it not be, I'm not Cher, even though I like to wear her clothes."
