While Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen's nasty custody battle plays out in front of the world, their children are secretly suffering through their own private nightmare, RadarOnline.com has learned. According to multiple sources, their twin sons Bob and Max are wracked with serious medical issues!

Mueller admitted to her children's struggle herself in court documents filed as part of the custody case Monday. Arguing that she needs $55,000 per month from Charlie to support Bob and Max, 7, Mueller revealed that the boys have "ongoing medical conditions and substantial expenses related thereto, the details of which are not disclosed herein, to protect their privacy."

Bob and Max were born seven weeks early in 2009, and Charlie admitted at the time, "Max has something called ejection fracture. It's the volume at which the heart pumps, and how much blood the heart can pump."

But although Charlie insisted then that things were "gradually going toward normal," Mueller's filing reveals that that is not the case.

A source told RadarOnline.com, "Brooke has told friends that Max has had issues with his heart since birth."

In addition, as RadarOnline.com reported, Denise Richards previously claimed that the boys demonstrated "extreme violent mood swings" and "disturbing behavior" while living at her home.

Richards said their pediatrician had recommended they visit a doctor "for a complete development and behavioral assessment," but Mueller objected at the time.

Story developing.
