Carrie Underwood has been recovering from a serious fall that left her with 40 to 50 stitches on her face and a broken wrist. A family member of the songstress gave an update on her condition exclusively to RadarOnline.com.

Underwood, 34, revealed in November that she underwent surgery on her broken wrist after falling down steps outside of her Nashville home. In a blog post to her fan club members, she revealed the accident was worse than she first described.

"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," she wrote. "It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."

She continued, "In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike Fisher that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in."

She added that she is "still healing" and "not quite looking the same."

Former Below Deck star Adrienne Gang posted a photo with Underwood on December 12 at the gym. In the photo, Underwood could be seen wearing her wristband. As for her face, no cuts are scars were visible.
