Social Climber Bethenny Begging Hoda To Be Friends Again After Huge 'Today' Promotion

Social Climber Bethenny Frankel was desperately trying to fix her broken relationship with Hoda Kotb after she replaced Matt Lauer on The TODAY Show, becoming one of the most powerful women on TV, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

"Bethenny and Hoda become best friend in 2013," an insider snitched.

"But after a short time Bethenny turned on Hoda and pulled away. Bethenny moved on to being friends with Ellen and celebrities that Bethenny thought could help her career more and dumped Hoda."

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and the morning talk show anchor shared a special bond.

"It's hard to underestimate how close these two were. Bethenny fixed Hoda up with dates and they would go out dancing together. But after a while Bethenny moved onto bigger and more famous people and broke Hoda's heart."

The vicious reality star dropped Kotb for her bigger more famous celebrity friends.

"Everyone told Hoda not to trust Bethenny and that she was only hanging out with her because she was on TV with Kathie Lee Gifford. But at the time she didn't want to believe it."

Frankel's ego quickly took over. "Bethenny actually thought she was a bigger star than Hoda and only wanted people around her that were powerful and rich as herself. Now that Hoda has got the biggest job on morning TV, Bethenny is over her like a rash again," the source spilled to RadarOnline.com.

"But don't worry, Hoda has learned her lesson. She doesn't need or want friend just because she is powerful now. She knows the truth about Bethenny."
