The on-again, off-again boyfriend of Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson has been caught on a secret audio recording calling her a "f*cking whore" and threatening to "beat her ass."

In a series of tapes obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, a drunk Brooks Ayers can be heard justifying his threat of violence toward the Bravo star "because I can (and) that's what we do in the South."

He is heard slurring his words and using profane insults about the woman he's dated since 2011, during an explosive exchange with a second man, believed to be Ryan Culberson, Gunvalson's son-in-law.

Listen! 'RHOP' star Wendy Osefo breaks down the “most intense fight in the show's history” in under 2 minutes.

At one point, Ayers, 46, even glorifies violence against women, telling Culberson he too should beat the opposite sex. When he's rebuffed by Culberson, a Staff Sergeant in the Marines, Ayers tells him: "Well you probably should do."

Today, RadarOnline.com is publishing two recordings of Ayers, which a source said were captured last year.

They were recorded because those close to Gunvalson, 51, were afraid Ayers may harm her, a source told RadarOnline.com.

RadarOnline.com has verified that the man caught on tape making the threats is indeed Ayers.

"B*tch, like she's never done it before ever," the father-of-two is heard at the beginning of the expletive-laced tape. It is unclear in what context he is calling Gunvalson a "b*tch."

"You'll be alright," responds Culberson, who is married to Gunvalson's daughter Briana.

"F*cking whore, imma sic f*cking beat her ass when i see her," Ayers charges. "It'll be like a week when I see her, sh*t."

"That ain't right," Culberson tells him.

This is how the rest of the exchange went down.

BA: It ain't?

RC: No.

BA: What ain't right?

RC: You can't beat her up.

BA: I'm going to be beat her ass.

RC: Why?

BA: Because I can. That's what we do in the South.

RC: No. I don't do that.

BA: You don't beat their ass?

RC: No.

BA: Well you probably should do.

RC: No.

BA: Oh god. This is us.

RC: Yeah upstairs.

BA: You be careful.

RC: You be careful. I am good.

That tape ends with Culberson asking an inebriated Ayers, "Are you alright?"

In a second recording, the reality star -- who is set to appear on part three of the OC Housewives reunion next week -- can also be heard criticizing Gunvalson whom he accuses her of "reading him the riot act."

He appears to read a text message she had sent him, saying: "Do as you do. Sorry you're drunk again. So your loss. I can't fight with I. I don't have it in me."

BA: Read me the riot act.

RC: Huh?

MORE ON:
Bravo

BA: Read me the riot act.

RC: Who is?

BA: Vicki.

RC: Reading you the riot act?

BA: Yep.

RC: What's that mean?

BA: Do as you do. Sorry you're drunk... again. So your loss. I can't fight with I. I don't have it in me.

RC: What's the riot act? I thought it was like a police thing.

BA: Eh, I don't know. So whatever.

When asked to comment about the recording, Ayers, via his lawyer, said he was unable to speak about it because it was part of what is discussed during the show's reunion special.

"The topic and Mr. Ayers' related comments were filmed in July, 2013, and are scheduled to air during the 'Reunion,'" Patricia A. Marr, Esq. told RadarOnline.com.

"While Mr. Ayers appreciates the opportunity to comment for your media outlet, he is prohibited from commenting about future air segments."

Gunvalson and Ayers have been involved in a bitter split since earlier this year and both are entangled in a lawsuit over a vodka product they had planned to launch.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the break-up got so ugly that Ayers threatened to go public with information he believed would damage her reputation.

“Vicki dumped him via a text message,” a source revealed.

“He was furious. Brooks told her that if she said anything negative about him in the media, he wasn’t going to hold back. He was adamant that he would take her down. He said in no uncertain terms, ‘Be very careful Vicki.’”

Speaking to RadarOnline.com in July, Gunvalson declared her “love tank was empty” after a tumultuous few months during which Ayers was accused of cheating on her with various porn stars.

He denied the claims.

The recording has shades of another audio scandal, Mel Gibson, who was caught using anti-Semitic and sexist remarks during a tirade against Oksana Grigorieva in 2010.

"You're an embarrassment to me. You look like a f***ing pig in heat and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault," Gibson told the mother of his infant child in one of a series of abusive and disgusting rants.

---

UPDATE 12:04 p.m. PT -- In an email sent to RadarOnline.com on Tuesday, Ayers said: "Your article was factually inaccurate in the fact that the audio was recorded in February 2012 not 'earlier this year'."

RadarOnline.com has since updated our story.

Ayers added, "The airing of the audio and the running of the story referencing my public breakup via text is nothing more than a continued effort to defame me."
