Howard Stern sat down with Katie Couric Tuesday, as the former TODAY show queen dropped the bombshell that the show had asked her to return at one point, and we've got the clip for you right here on RadarOnline.com.
Asked about the TODAY's recent ratings swoon -- and the subsequent media attention following it -- Katie told the Private Parts star, "There were some possible overtures forme to go back to the TODAY show, but they evaporated … for me, that was the best job."

Katie said of the show's embattled co-host Matt Lauer: "You know what? I actually had a little crush on Matt when he was the local news anchor on WNBC, because I though he was so funny and so quick."
