It's official: Roseanne Barr really is running for president.
The TV star (who previously said she was exploring the idea on The Tonight Show last summer has filed for candidacy with the Green Party with their convention looming in Baltimore this July.
"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1% -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said in a statement.
Barr wrote on her Green Party candidate questionnaire she "will barnstorm American living rooms.
"Mainstream media will be unable to ignore me, but more importantly they will be unable to overlook the needs of average Americans in the run-up to the 2012 election."
In August, she told Jay Leno her quest for the Oval Office came from an unlikely source: Sarah Palin.
“That’s kinda what got me to thinking that I too should run for president, if she can,” Roseanne said.
