This divorce is getting even uglier!

Kim Kardashian's best friend, reality TV star Jonathan Cheban, is considering filing a $5 million lawsuit against her soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries because he called Cheban gay, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Cheban, who also starred in his own E! series The Spin Crowd, has consulted an attorney about launching a libel or defamation suit against the ex-New Jersey Nets basketball star.

"Jonathan was offended," a pal close to Cheban told RadarOnline.com. "He is not gay and Kris' comments were derogatory, a slur against his character and given it's being broadcast on a program that airs internationally, it has the potential to cause serious damage to Jonathan's reputation."

It's understood Humphries used Kourtney & Kim Take New York to accuse Cheban of being homosexual because he had never hooked up with the reality star during their long-time friendship.

"There is a huge fight in the episode, between Jonathan and Kris. Kris repeats the slur, over and over again, so much so that Jonathan stops talking to Kris at one point, during the series," a production source told RadarOnline.com.

"Kris uses some seriously ugly and homophobic language."

The Cheban pal told RadarOnline.com: "The bottom line is Jonathan is not gay. This just goes to show how ignorant and immature Kris was during his marriage to Kim."
