Redmond O'Neal graduated Thursday from a Los Angeles County Superior Court appointed drug program.
RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that troubled Redmond - son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett - was among 17 graduates who had DUI or drug charges that were ordered to complete the strict program.
"I just wanted to thank Judge Tynan and tell everyone how much I appreciate everything you have done for me," Redmond said to those in attendance at the emotional ceremony.
"To the newcomers, you do this. That's it."
Grateful for what the program did for him, Redmond gave Judge Michael Tynan a hug before he spoke.
While many of the graduates had friends and family in attendance, Redmond's father Ryan was noticeably absent for this pivotal point in his son's life.
Upon completion of the program, Redmond's criminal record will be expunged and he will no longer have to reside in the court ordered sober living facility.
