Gene Simmons allowed officers from the department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to search his home on Thursday, though authorities say the rocker and his family are not considered suspects.
Police also stated that the 65-year-old was "extremely cooperative" throughout their search.
"Today members of the Los Angeles Police Department visited Mr. And Mrs. Simmons at their home to discuss a crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Mr. Simmons was away on tour with KISS," Simmons' rep shared in a statement.
"Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a person of interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation. At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it."

Simmons' wife, Shannon Tweed-Simmons, took to Twitter on Thursday to thank fans for their support through the ordeal.
Of course, the search of former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle began innocently enough, and ended with charges for underage prostitution, as well as his wife filing for divorce.
