Is Sherri Shepherd Leaving ‘The View’ After This Season? ‘She’s Looking For New Opportunities,’ Production Insider Reveals

Sherri Shepherd view leaving new opportunities

Could another cast shake-up be about to hit The View?

With television doyenne Barbara Walters set to retire in summer 2014, co-host Sherri Shepherd is “worried about her job” and has begun to look for other opportunities, a well-placed production source has revealed to RadarOnline.com.

“Sherri is quietly looking for new opportunities,” the insider dished.

“While it may just be a precaution, Sherri is worried she’ll be out of a job after Barbara leaves.”

Shepherd, 46, became a frequent guest co-host on The View in 2006 and eventually moved into the role as a permanent co-host in Sept. 2007.

“Before Barbara leaves, she’ll want to make sure the panel is perfect and Sherri is concerned that could mean letting a few people go,” the source added.

“Sherri wants to stay on television, in either a hosting capacity or a sitcom. She’s looking into various roles and putting her feelers out there. She’d love to have her own talk  show, but that isn’t her focus right at this moment.”

As Radar previously reported, there has been drama surrounding new cohost Jenny McCarthy, the 41-year-old model who replaced former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
