RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned Tom Cruise is doing his best not to film his upcoming Top Gun sequel in California, because he wants the movie relocated to his beloved Scientology mecca of Clearwater, Florida!

“Tom can’t bear to be away from his headquarters these days,” an insider told RadarOnline.com. “He has a really hard time in L.A. and didn’t enjoy his most recent experience filming on the West Coast.”

“It’s thrown the project into jeopardy though, because plans were already in place for specific locations and now he wants to rip everything up and go back to Florida,” continued the source.

“That’s where his office is and that's where he wants to conduct his business going forward.”

As RadarOnline.com reported, Cruise recently moved into a secret sanctuary within spitting distance of Scientology’s Clearwater headquarters.

Now Cruise “wants to continue to bring big films into the area and help get the local production business on its feet, the way he has helped to in London.”
