‘It Was A Huge Mistake’: ‘The Voice’ Contestant Tyshawn Tells All On Gay Porn Past
Feb. 25 2019, Updated 11:34 a.m. ET
Tyshawn Colquitt shared his story of struggle and financial hardship with fans on this season of The Voice, but RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the eliminated contestant also has a secret past with gay porn.
The 23-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio, native — who was nixed from Jennifer Hudson’s team last week — detailed his dark history.
“Gay porn is a part of my past and I did it when I was going through a rough time,” Colquitt told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.
“I got a presidential scholarship, but I didn’t have any money to pay for any type of living expenses, so I couldn’t go to college. I was trying to do so many different things and it was just not enough.”
Prior to appearing on The Voice, Colquitt — who is the oldest of 12 children — won Live at the Apollo three times as a teen and three times as an adult.
But Colquitt reveals he led a double life — appearing in XXX-rated movies that showed him having oral and anal sex with groups of men at the same time.
“Being a homosexual was not a part of my lifestyle that I am comfortable with. But doing that was a safer way of not being close to people and still being able to pay for my journey,” Colquitt told RadarOnline.com.
The axed reality star explained lacking the appropriate parental guidance led him down a path he didn’t anticipate. “During the time, I did not have a male figure in my life. It has always been a rocking chair with me.”
“Honestly, I was not expecting it to go as big as it did. So, I went to a place where I just gave up. I did not want to let anyone down and I did what I had to do to keep the money going.”
His hardships, however, made way for a better life. Colquitt told RadarOnline.com exclusively he’s found a new way to make money — funding his musical career through a pound cake company, Pound 4 Sound, that he started with his mother, Eutivia Lee.
According to his manager, Chris Powell, Colquitt never gave up on his dreams.
He told RadarOnline.com, “After all the pain and suffering that Tyshawn has been through, he is still standing,”
