Taylor Swift is the new reigning queen of Instagram!
The pop star climbed to a new level social media success, racking up a whopping 50 million followers on her Instagram account. Soon after, Swift took to Instagram – of course – to thank her fans for the honorable record-setting count.
"50 million followers!! Thanks so much guys," Swift wrote, adding, "I'm pretty sure this is just because I have cute cats though."
The 25-year-old hit-maker has officially surpassed social media heavyweight Kim Kardashian, who comes in second place at 48.4 million followers.

Even Beyonce didn't make the cut, with her Instagram account clocking in at 47.5 million followers.

Swift's recent GQ cover release may have helped boost her popularity some, making a splash on newsstands as it featured a sexier side to the singer. On the cover, Swift is pictured leaning up against a beach-side railing, sporting a skin-tight t-shirt dress.
Her latest beau, Calvin Harris, was quick to support his beautiful blonde, favoriting many fans' tweets of the singer's big cover debut.
