Thomas’ Pal Claims Ashley Is A ‘Gold Digger’ As Couple Threatens Breakup
Thomas Ravenel and Ashely Jacobs’ relationship was reaching rock bottom on the latest episode of Southern Charm. As she flirted shamelessly with his friends, he poured his heart out to his hot baby mama!
“I think there’s an unevenness between what I’m giving her versus what she’s giving me,” Ravenel confessed to his friend Patricia Altschul about his unhappiness with Jacobs, blaming it on her unemployment.
“That creates resentment on both points. I feel like the way to level the playing field is to work, be financially secure. If she were focused on something other than me.
“I asked her why she loved me so much. She said ‘Well, you’re a good provider.’”
“Which translates into you’ve got money,” Altschul replied. “No job. No interests. No friends. Just hanging out in an apartment that Thomas pays for. The word that comes to mind is ‘gold digger.’”
Ravenel and Jacobs headed out to his Brookfield Plantation to plan a polo match and party when they had a heart to heart talk about their unhappy romance.
“If it were up to me this is where I would have spent more time. It is peaceful,” she said. “This would be the ideal place to have a wedding.”
But Ravenel was in no mood to talk about weddings. “I see you as a wonderful person who has a wonderful career. The way things have been going I’m just some kind of sugar daddy.”
A tearful Jacobs told Ravenel she loved him and wanted the relationship to work, but she was worried if she had a job he would be out partying without her.
“If you get a job it will change everything,” he tried to convince her. “All I did was work. I hustled. I just don’t see how that is going to change even with me having a job. You’re asking me to change with me getting a job. I’m asking you to change too,” she responded.
Overwhelmed by the heated argument, Ravenel dropped a bombshell: “Maybe we should just call it quits.”
In another scene, Jacobs was seen chatting with Ravenel’s friend, Shep Rose. Suddenly, the flirty beauty shocked him when she began complaining about how miserable she was with his pal.
“Lately I haven’t been happy. I feel alone and more isolated. Would you date me? If I break up with Thomas?” she asked him.

“I’m not a good safe bet," a shocked Rose answered.
Ravenel’s baby mama, Kathryn Dennis, also attended the polo match party, making it the first time she’d been back to the plantation since her split from Ravenel.
During the bash, Dennis revealed that she felt that she had her “onset of depression” after giving birth to Kensie and living in a big house far from friends and family.
“Thomas assumed when I had the baby I would become this ideal person. I’m 22 years old, no family no friends near me. I would almost daily cry to myself. And I mean sob. I don’t know. It was a really sad time,” she admitted.
Jacobs, however, was not moved by Dennis’ sadness, and was less than thrilled to see her at the polo match party.
“I do not f**king feel like talking to Kathryn,” she said, and was irritated when Dennis and Ravenel bonded.
“I just haven’t had a lot of success in my personal life,” Ravenel told Dennis. “I’ve become a person I’m not proud of.”
Dennis warned him, “There doesn’t have to be drama. Like right now Ashley seems upset that we’re talking.” Then she teased him: “Now dating her do you feel like I was any less psycho?”
Jacobs confronted Ravenel about the conversation with his ex, and admitted she told their friend about their troubled relationship. “I can’t pretend like it is wonderful. Our little arguments here and there, I don’t know what else to do.”
Ravenel agreed. “I just want to tell you. This is not really good for me, this is not what I want. If I can’t be true to myself then I can’t be true to you.”
“Even if it ends right now I would still do it over,” Jacobs told him. “I just don’t know what to do. I don’t want to throw in the towel. I do love you so much. If it is ok with you I want to be able to walk away and say that I tried. I want you to give me that opportunity.”
“I still have some hope,” Ravenel told Jacobs.
