Ryan Seacrest Planning To Leave 'Live' For Lucrative 'American Idol' Deal?

Ryan Seacrest is very close to inking an incredibly lucrative deal to host and executive produce the reboot of American Idol.

However, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that, in doing so, he may be giving up his current gig – as co-host of Live alongside Kelly Ripa!

"Honestly, Ryan is just not sure whether he wants to stay on as co-host of 'Live' anymore," a source close to the 42-year-old seasoned media mogul said.

"He is going to stick out his contract, obviously. But New York City does not feel like home to him and he really misses L.A."

As RadarOnline.com reported, Seacrest's plan to return to Idol hit a road block when he learned that Katy Perry would be pocketing $25 million, whereas he was offered less than half of that!

According to sources close to Seacrest, the host was shocked and angered by the low-ball offer, and was prepared to move on from the show that made him a star.

Meanwhile, OG Idol Judge Simon Cowell, 57, hasn't committed to a new season of Idol either, but the insider claims if ABC can coax Simon to rejoin, Seacrest may be out !
