Ryan O'Neal Turns His Back On Druggie Son, Letting Redmond Rot In Jail!

Ryan O'Neal has given up any hope of saving his troubled son Redmond, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

As readers know, Redmond was busted on May 8 in Santa Monica for holding up a convenience store with a knife.

The 33-year-old career criminal and drug addict was charged with armed robbery — plus possession of heroin and methamphetamines — after stealing just $60 in cash.

He now faces up to ten years in the L.A. County prison, but his famous father seems so-far unmoved.

"Ryan has totally turned his back on Redmond," a source told RadarOnline.com. "He hasn't reached out to Redmond — either through Redmond's attorney or through the estate trustee of Redmond's mom, Farrah Fawcett."

Ryan was a no show at Redmond's hearing on Friday, May 18 at a Los Angeles court regarding a probation violation for a 2016 case.

But Redmond's Public Defender attorney Robert Mendoza dismissed Ryan's absence by claiming he is in "very poor health" and Redmond fears his father might pass away while he is in custody.

Meanwhile, a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively Redmond has received no visitors, and even refused to see his famous sister, Tatum O'Neal, when she tried to visit earlier this month.

"Tatum did inquire about visiting her brother Redmond in jail over the weekend," a well-placed source told RadarOnline.com. "But Redmond told his attorney he doesn't want to have ANY visitors right now."

Redmond has had multiple arrests, and spent a year in prison after being found guilty of drug charges. He had originally been sentenced to three years for violating his probation in an ongoing drug possession case, but was released in 2016.
