Roseanne Connor is dead…long live Darlene!

In a shocking new development, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively ABC execs plan to get rid of Roseanne Barr’s character in her hit sitcom, and instead focus a reboot around on-screen daughter Darlene, played by Sara Gilbert.

“Sara Gilbert is in talks to get a spin-off called ‘Darlene’ and they will kill off Roseanne on the show!" an insider revealed to Radar.

As Radar has reported, the disgraced comedian’s former co-stars are busy discussing saving the show.

“The cast is meeting today because they refuse to give up on their fans, or the family that they were building with each other,” another source previously told Radar.

As Radar reported, the fallout was swift after Barr made racist comments on Twitter about former President Barack Obama‘s onetime aide, Valerie Jarrett.

After Roseanne Executive Producer Wanda Sykes announced she quit the show over the controversial situation, Gilbert, who also served as an executive producer on the revival, blasted Barr on Twitter.

Minutes later, the show was cancelled.

“Sara is super upset about all of this, just as everyone else is,” said the insider. “But she is getting so much crap from everyone about her comments on Twitter because the show was allegedly her idea to begin with.”
