Robin ‘Completely Freaked Out’ Over Jim’s Success: Their Bitter Feud Exposed
Even some of the world’s biggest stars have insecurities. RadarOnline.com has learned the late Robin Williams was once so jealous of Jim Carrey the two were caught in a bitter feud!
Robin author David Itzkoff revealed in his new biography about the late actor that Williams, a veteran in the industry by the time Carrey emerged to stardom, was threatened by the newcomer.
Itzkoff claimed Williams became “fixated” on Carrey’s talents – so much so that he was enraged to find out Carrey accepted a role in Batman after he turned it down.
“Robin was chagrined to find that the part had gone to Carrey,” wrote Itzkoff.
The Jumanji star also fell short when paying Carrey compliments after his smash in the box office, Dumb & Dumber. According to Itzkoff, Williams paid Carrey “some sincere and some backhanded” compliments.
Williams even went so far to make fun of Carrey’s physical appearance, Itzkoff wrote.
The Mrs. Doubtfire star’s makeup artist Cheri Minns was also quoted in the book, admitting Williams “got completely freaked out about Jim Carrey.”
