Rihanna's Tragedy: Star Terrified Of Losing Another Family Member

After suffering the tragic murder of her 21-year-old cousin earlier this year, Rihanna’s doing everything she can to keep her family safe, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively, including putting them on diets!

“Rihanna can’t stand the idea of losing anyone else close to her, especially not her dad, Ronald (Fenty),” a source told RadarOnline.com. “He’s a lifelong drinker but somehow she’s achieved the impossible and got him to kick the booze.”

Fenty, 63, is a warehouse supervisor in Barbados, who suffered through years of addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol, which contributed to her parents' strained marriage. But apparently, that’s all behind him now.

“Ronald’s much healthier and happier these days and it’s all thanks to her,” the source added.

But the brutal murder of the singer’s cousin, Tavon Kaiseen, has left her worried about the rest of her family. As RadarOnline.com reported, Kaiseen, 21, was shot and killed as he was walking near his home in Barbados last Christmas.

After the tragic loss, Fenty told RadarOnline.com exclusively that his famous daughter was “coping as best she could.”

“Rihanna is grieving right now,” he told RadarOnline.com at the time. “I’ve been getting lots of phone calls from our family. Everyone is sticking together.”

Earlier this year, 23-year-old Shawayne Dashawn Williams was arrested and charged with the murder. And watching her dad clean up his act has gone a long way to alleviating RiRi’s fears.

“Given all the violence going on in Barbados, she shuddered to think what could happen to him if he was stumbling around town at night after a few too many rums, so it’s a real weight off her mind,” the source confided.
