Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson shocked her Twitter followers on Saturday morning by claiming she was sexually harassed in an absolutely vile way by a "male star" in "a position of power."

She hasn't named the actor.

Wilson, 37, also alleged that when she reported the star's misdeeds, his reps threatened her!

The actress started her Twitter rant by writing that she had been in a "bubble…creating new comedy overseas but it's so hard to hear all these stories relating to sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood. As you guys know, I'm a pretty strong and confident person but even I have a story to tell."

She then made the following allegations:

Wilson also claimed via Twitter, "Earlier in my career, I also had a 'hotel room' encounter with a top director. I thought we were there to talk comedy. Nothing physical happened because the guy's wife called and started abusing him over the phone for sleeping with actresses and luckily she was yelling so loud...

"that I could hear her and I bolted out of there immediately. I was so naive the thought of anything happening apart from 'work talk' didn't even cross my mind."

The comedienne concluded her Twitter revelations by saying she had taken self-defense classes and was happy she was able to "escape both incidents" but knows that others aren't as lucky.

Wilson's stunning anecdotes are just the latest in a series of stories rocking Hollywood after producer Harvey Weinstein's scandal involving alleged sexual harassment of more than 30 women.

Actor Kevin Spacey has been accused of raping a 14-year-old boy, among other claims.
