Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson has been mysteriously absent from the hit show lately — and now, he’s finally revealing the shocking reason behind his disappearance.

In a shocking Instagram post, the 23-year-old comedian claimed he “quit drugs” after nearly a decade of using.

“I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years,” he wrote.

He credited his friends and girlfriend, TV icon Larry David’s daughter, Cazzie, for his newfound stability.

“It wasn’t easy, but I got myself a great girl, great friends and I consider myself a lucky man,” he continued, also expressing his love for his fans. “I’ll always be here for you guys, I promise.”

He ended with a positive message for his more than 400,000 followers.

“Remember to never give up hope because sometimes that’s all we got,” he said.

The stand-up star has struggled with serious hardships in his short life. His late firefighter father, Scott Davidson, died in the September 11 attacks.

“Missing the legend,” he wrote on the 15th anniversary of his passing.
