Oscar Pistorius can never appeal his 15-year prison sentence after murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. According to The Sun, a South African court ruled that the Paralympic athlete's "application for leave to appeal is dismissed."

"We have always contended as the NPA that their leave to appeal has no prospects of success, and the Constitutional Court has just confirmed that," said NPA spokesman Luvuyo Mfaku, according to the outlet.

As readers know, Pistorius, 31, was placed behind bars on July 2016, after he was found guilty of killing Steenkamp on Valentine's Day of 2013. The former star's girlfriend died after he shot her four times through the door of a toilet cubicle inside his home. At the time, he told authorities he had mistaken her for an intruder, though investigators later found out the two had had a heated argument just moments prior.

Though he recently got involved in a brawl and suffered a heart attack behind bar, it sees Pistorius has a long way to go in terms of jail time.

The ex-athlete was initially convicted of manslaughter, but was later convicted of murder by the Supreme Court in 2015. His sentence was increased from six to 15 years this November 2017.
