Mother On Life-Support After Being Brutally Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver
A mother has suffered from brutal head injuries and brain damage after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in L.A. RadarOnline.com has learned.
“The impact launched her about 10 feet and it was a black SUV. The car did not even hit the brakes it just kept on going,” said the victim’s cousin Adam Ayala.
34-year-old Ingrid Argueta was celebrating her birthday when she walked outside of a crosswalk and was hit.
“I saw she was laying in the street, they were trying to move her and I tried to tell them not to,” said a witness. “We were checking her pulse, making sure she was breathing. It was getting kind of shallow and then they came on.”
According to Argueta’s family, three other people were accompanying the victim as they all headed to a relative’s house when the incident occurred.
“I think they must have been under the influence or something. I mean even if they were scared they should have stopped. It’s pretty cowardly in my opinion to just flee the scene like that. I have no words,” said Ayala.

According to KABC, Argueta was treated for cranial bleeding, arm abrasions, a laceration to the back of her head, and possible fractured legs. Her family claims she will have severe brain damage, if she ever wakes up.
Police officers are providing a $50,000 reward to anyone who provides information on the driver.
