Mike ‘The Situation’s Sentencing Delayed Again Amid Plans To Marry Before Prison

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino plans to marry fiancée Lauren Pesce before his possible prison stint for fraud – and he now has more than enough time to do so! RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the Jersey Shore star’s fraud sentencing has been postponed yet again.

According to the United States District Court of New Jersey, Mike, 36, and his brother Marc Sorrentino’s sentencing is now set for October 2, 2018 at 11:00am in Newark.

The sentencing date was initially postponed from June 20 to August 15. Then on June 5, Henry Klingeman, who is a member of Mike’s counsel, requested the date be rescheduled because it conflicts with a “long-planned family vacation” for the attorney. It was rescheduled for September 7.

The Federal Grand Jury indicted Mike and his brother Marc for failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million of income in September 2014. They were also accused of filing false tax returns with the IRS in relation to Mike’s businesses.

Mike was slapped with more charges of tax evasion and structuring funds to evade currency-transaction reports in April 2017. His brother was charged with falsifying records to obstruct a grand jury investigation.

Mike pled guilty to one count of tax evasion in January and faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison. His brother pled guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return. He faces up to three years in prison.

The postponements have been convenient for Sorrentino, as he began filming season 2 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in June. A source previously told RadarOnline.com he plans to marry Pesce, 33, who he proposed to in April, in the fall.

They are working out the exact date now, as well as the location for the wedding and venue for the reception,” the insider told RadarOnline.com in June.
