Michelle Williams — the gorgeous actress who’s publicly stood up for equal pay in Hollywood — is taken!
RadarOnline.com has learned the blonde stunner married singer Phil Elverum in a top-secret ceremony in the Adirondacks earlier this month.
While Williams has been extremely private about her love life since ex Heath Ledger’s 2008 overdose death, she opened up to Vanity Fair, confessing in an interview she feels extreme joy knowing she’s found true love again ten years later.
Williams and Elverum, 40, tied the knot in an intimate wedding, surrounded by a small group of friends and her daughter Matilda.
The actress told the magazine that they’ve been living together since July, when the singer packed up his home in Anacortes, Washington, and drove across the country with his young daughter to move in with Williams and hers.
Elverum lost his wife to pancreatic cancer in 2015, just months after she’d given birth to their daughter. Similarly, Williams lost Ledger to an accidental drug overdose when their daughter Matilda was just two.
When talking to Vanity Fair, Williams described her bond with Elverum as “very sacred and very special.” She said that she “never gave up on love” after Ledger died and is happy to be able to share her life with someone who shares her same values and loves her entirely.
“I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes,’” said Williams, adding that she’s never once talked about another romantic relationship since the actor’s passing, but “Phil isn’t anyone else. And that’s worth something.”
“Ultimately the way he loves me is the way I want to live my life on the whole. I work to be free inside of the moment. I parent to let Matilda feel free to be herself, and I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free,” she added.
In the end, Williams left readers with some final words of wisdom: “Don’t settle. Don’t settle for something that feels like a prison, or is hard, or hurts you… If it doesn’t feel like love, it’s not love.”
