Tamara Breeden is a walking miracle. In a heartbreaking interview with NBC10, the mentally impaired woman who was kidnapped, tortured and held captive for 10 years inside a Philadelphia house of horrors, is finally telling her story.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, the 36-year-old, who has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old, was abducted by crazed criminal Linda Ann Weston in 2001, after Weston told Breeden she was taking her to her house to babysit.
As soon as they entered the house, Weston took Breeden to her basement and chained her to a boiler, where she kept her until 2011, when police found her and three other mentally impaired adults living in squalid conditions.
Photos from the Associated Press show the dark, murky basement covered in dirty sheets, cups and rags. Federal prosecutor Richard Barrett told NBC10 that it “was the worst thing you will ever see.”
Apart from kidnapping Breeden and the other three adult victims, Weston tortured them with physical abuse, sexual abuse and starvation. Breeden said she was beaten with bats, sticks and chains, shot with a BB gun, and forced to drink her own urine.
“She hit me with a metal bat. I had to block my face, so she couldn't get to my face. I see my scars every time, but I say to God, I am still beautiful, and I am still alive,” Breeden told the outlet.
Authorities said Weston forced two female victims into prostitution in exchange for money when she started abducting victims in Texas and Florida — before moving them all to Philadelphia. While some victims, like Breeden, survived, two women died in captivity, leading to murder charges for Weston.
“I kept praying to Jesus and praying to God that I could get back home to my family. I thought I was going to die there,” added the brave survivor.
While in captivity, Breeden gave birth to three kids, the youngest of which now lives with her parents.
“She means everything to me. My heart, my soul, and my love,” she said of daughter Ava Olivia. Her other two kids were cared for by Weston until 2011 when they found out Breeden is their biological mother. She is still hoping to build a relationship with them.
Breeden added that while she loves her kids, she became pregnant because her captor forced her to have sex with other “older mans” inside a shabby trailer.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, Linda Ann Weston and three co-conspirators — including her own daughter — were arrested after authorities found out they had been stealing the identities of at least a dozen mentally disabled adults in order to take advantage of their social security benefits. In 2015 Weston was sentenced to life in prison plus 80 years.
“Some of the victims recount children they had that there is no record of,” said Federal prosecutor Faithe Taylor. “They recount other victims we could not trace.”
Despite it all, Tamara Breeden is making the most out of her life after being rescued. “I feel nice and happy,” she told the outlet.
